MODEL PREFACE:
My poetry
portfolio is an anthology of poems dealing with and discussing the interaction
of “man with nature.” Each poem presented shows and describes a part of nature
as well as the actions or thoughts a human being expresses about that certain
area or subject. The poems are all very different, but share the same peaceful
theme which also greatly inspired the poems in this portfolio that were written
by me.
Since I enjoy and interact with nature, I felt drawn to describe the
image of man doing the same. Nature would be completely different if man was not
involved. To me, nature has always impacted my life in many great ways. I have
always found it easy to write about or relate to the natural world around me.
Ever since I was a little girl, I
drew pictures of nature. As I grew older, I began writing poems about it. No matter what age
I was or will be, I will always love and feel close to nature. I hope that my
portfolio adequately expresses my passion.
